Welcome to the Community

Latest Newsletter is out now!

The Easter issue of our newsletter is focused on the decision of the council to go a head with the Living Streets project. We have a two page article covering how the vote went on the night, what amendments were proposed and how each councillor voted on the night. It also covers how the project is likely to impact residents during construction and once complete. You can read it all here.

Other articles include the winner of the best decorated house, a review of Dún Laoghaire’s super successful 1st St Patrick’s Day festival and all the usual quiz’s Tidy Towns updates etc.. Download a copy here.

Tidy Towns Table Quiz

The annual Tidy Towns quiz will take place on the 8th of May this year, all are welcome and we urge everyone to support our local Tidy Towns groups who do a wonder job that benefits everyone across the town. A table of 4 is €60, or €15 each. Contact info@dlcra.ie or dltidytowns@gmail.com to buy tickets.

Retail Survey

Please take a minute to tell us via email or survey what would be a beneficial addition to the town. There is a prize of a €40 voucher to one lucky submission, so please, if you have a minute to spare, take the time to send in your thoughts.

If we are to be a successful 15 minute town, residents need to be able to get most of their requirements within the town itself.  What do you think we are missing?

The Boylan Centre

The Boylan Centre was sold by the Catholic Church to Dún Laoghaire County Council, with the aim to hopefully assist in the housing crisis. It is located on here on Sussex St.

The DLCRA wrote to all seven of the local county councillors as well as the directors of housing, the county architect, the Senior Architect Bob Hannon, the Cathaoirleach Dennis O’Callaghan and other council officials expressing our hope that the newly acquired property would be used to add social and affordable housing, preferably with an element for essential workers. You can see our letter here.

The Director of Housing Catherine Keenan wrote a response, which you can see here.

Online Advice from an Garda Síochána

The Gardaí were generous enough to have given the DLCRA two documents that we believe will be very useful everyone. One of them is a report on the 3 most common types of fraud that are taking place at the moment and ways to avoid being a victim. These include Payment Fraud, Email fraud and Phone Fraud. You can see a copy of the report here.

The other document the Gardaí have given us is a handy guide to the golden rules of safe online shopping. You can find it here.

You can find a soft copy of all our newsletters, including our newest issue on our Newsletters page.

If you want to give us any feedback please email info@dlcra.ie
