The beautiful weather we had this summer makes Dún Laoghaire town beside the sea one of the most pleasant and picturesque places to live. It also becomes a destination for many visitors who flock to the town in the summer months. Maybe this is the cause of the rise in the amount of dirty and stained pavements around the town?
A number of people have emailed to say that the pavements were very dirty in the last month or two, and sent in numerous photographs.
What can be done about it? More power hosing seems needed, maybe more help from retailers who are selling the food that is spilt or maybe the pavements can be treated so that they are not so absorbent to spilt liquids. Whatever the solution is, something needs to be done.
Please send us any photos you have of stained pavements to info@dlcra.ie
